As this year ends and the new year begins, I would like to take this opportunity to extend our best wishes for a safe and prosperous New Year from all of us at the Monroe County Sheriff's Department. We look forward to helping make 2017 a wonderful year for our county and our community.

Some of our accomplishments for the year of 2015 are:

Looking to hire a Certified Resource Officer for the Clarendon/Holly Grove School District. The Sheriff Department have had great success in the recovery of stolen property. We have made some great improvements in our Detention Center. Held an Auxiliary class here in the county with great success, our department also offered a Concealed Handgun Class.

Our Deputies have attended vigorously training throughout the year to enhance their skills and knowledge on how to properly protect and serve. We here at the Monroe County Sheriff Department are focused on protecting and securing the citizens of Monroe County.

As we approach the new year, my commitment to the citizens of this County remains strong, and I will continue to work with you to improve the quality of life for the current and future residents of Monroe County. It is my hope that 2017 will be a year when members in our community more often extend a helping hand to their neighbors, coworkers, family, friends, and strangers in need.

It's a real pleasure to say "Thank You" to our community as we wish you a full year of happiness and success.
