Springtime often brings warmer temperatures and new growth. There is no feeling like enjoying the many festivities with family and friends in the outdoors. As Winter comes to a close and we embark on Spring, spring break and graduation draws near for many students. We at the Monroe County Sheriff Department are very excited about some of the things we hope to accomplish with the dawning of Spring 2018 as we celebrate in our community

We here at the Sheriff Department have an open door policy and if our officers including myself or Reserve Officers can ever assist you with anything please do not hesitate to contact us.

We also want to remind you that with the warm weather, children may be playing near our county roads. Please take extra caution and slow down when driving through residential neighborhoods. Remember they are our future. If you are traveling with a child, please model good behavior and driving habits. Some of which includes:

-WEAR YOUR SEAT BELT.

-OBEY THE SPEED LIMIT.

-PLEASE SLOW DOWN NEAR SCHOOLS AND NEIGHBORHOODS.

-DO NOT TEXT AND DRIVE.

-MAKE SURE CHILDREN ARE IN THE APPROPRIATE CAR SEAT.
