Welcome Spring!

As Winter comes to a close and we welcome Spring, we at the Monroe County Sheriff's Department remember that Spring is a great time in our community- a new baseball season begins, spring break is here, and graduation draws near for our students.  We enjoy celebrating these good times in our community.

As your Sheriff I have an open door policy. If our office can be of any assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.

If you are traveling at all please wear you seat belts and obey the traffic laws.

A quick note, the Monroe County Sheriff's Department sees a sharp increase in "prank" calls to our 911 Emergency Service. These non-emergency calls negatively impact the safety of the whole community by diverting critical resources away from true emergencies.

Please take a moment to discuss with your children the importance of the 911 system, and please monitor their phone use to prevent "prank" call to our 911 system.

DID YOU KNOW:

Monroe County was created on November 2, 1829, and was named after James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States, and the author of the Monroe Doctrine?

Monroe County Sheriff's Department Mission Statement-
