On Thursday 4/25/2019, Monroe County Deputies and Clarendon City Police Officers joined forces with U.S. Marshals in the successful location and apprehension of an individual wanted for five counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon  out of Cobb County, GA.

Venal Sims Jr. was located hiding in a building at the Lula Coleman Park in Holly Grove after an intensive, multi-agency,  8 hour long manhunt that stretched between the cities of Clarendon and Holly Grove. 

The suspect is being detained in the Monroe County Detention Center awaiting extradition.
