Authorities have arrested an alleged sex offender who has been on the run for 10 years

Travis Jones, 51, was arrested in Holly Grove, Monroe County, Arkansas on April 23, 2012.

He was originally arrested for Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact in July of 2001 in Henderson County, Texas.

After posting bond, Jones failed to show up in court on August of 2002 where a bond forfeiture warrant was issued.

In November of 2003, Jones was indicted for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and an additional arrest warrant was issued.

Henderson County authorities say they received numerous tips over the last four years about Jones being spotted in several different states; from Alabama to Nevada and Colorado.

Henderson County officials notified the Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force (EATF) and Deputy US Marshal's in Arkansas began surveillance on Jones' suspected location.

Jones was put on Henderson County's Top Ten Wanted Fugitive list and was later profiled on America's Most Wanted television show.

On April 23, Marshals noticed someone mowing the backyard who resembled Travis Jones at the suspected address. Marshals approached the man, who claimed his name was "Nathan Reed," and asked for proof of identification. Marshals accompanied Jones inside the home to retrieve identification and that's when Jones attempted to run out the back door.

They caught Jones just outside the home and he was then taken into custody.

Jones eventually admitted to being Travis Jones and was booked into the Monroe County Detention Center without further indictment.

Jones appeared at an Exdratition Hearing in Monroe County Circuit Court on Tuesday, April 24, and has been transported back to Texas.
