Parolee arrested in Monroe County on Drug, Firearm and Theft Charges

Monroe County Deputies with the help of the First Judicial Drug Task Force have charged Jeremy Lamont Allen with Possession of Cocaine, Marijuana, Xanax; Possession of Controlled Substance w/out a prescription, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Mr. Allen is currently a parolee and has also been charged with being in possession of a loaded 9mm oistol that was reported stolen by the Newport Police Department. Allen in being held in Monroe County on $165,00 bond. Allen was enroute to his mother's home in Palestine on Friday May 25th when he was involved in an accident involving his vehicle and a piece of farm equipment. When deputies arrived at the scence of the accident on highway 70 just south of Brinkley, they encountered Mr. Allen and observed him attempting to hide the drugs in his boots.
